The key aims of the role are:
- Familiar with latest design developments, statutory regulations, code of practice and offshore industry standards.
- Competence in the use of software such as ANSYS, SESAM, or SACS and STAADPRO.
- Work with lead engineer to achieve a satisfactory conclusion of the project within the allotted budget and timescale
- Good theoretical basis and hands on experiences
- Design of offshore substructures
- Design of onshore structure for oil and gas facilities
- Conversant with aspects of offshore environmental loading
- Familiar with the installation procedure, fabrication process and capable of detailed design of installation aids
- Familiar with the functional requirements of topsides structure, drilling derrick, jacket and capable of offering practical solutions
Key areas of the role:
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, to conduct design and analysis work of the rig conversion project independently and to the satisfaction of the project lead,
- Responsible for ensuring that all design work under your control is performed reviewed, checked and approved in accordance with ODE and/or project specific engineering procedures.
- Provide sketches, supervise drafting of drawings by CAD resource.
- Preparing engineering model and reports
Qualifications:
- BEng or Master Degree in Civil or related Engineering or above
- Chartered engineer (preferable but not essential)
- Post-graduation experience in offshore structural engineering
