The Role:

The key aims of the role are:

  • Perform Process Engineering Calculations, Simulations and other tasks and produce high quality reports for approval by Engineering Management prior to transmittal to clients
  • Check the work of peers, Engineers and Graduate Engineers prior to transmittal to clients
  • Lead process based brownfield studies
  • Work professionally with others in the Process Engineering and Project Team across a portfolio of projects for multiple clients
  • Attend relevant Safety, Health and Environmental awareness training provided by the company and set a good example on SHEQ issues
  • Maintain proficiency in use the HYSYS Process Simulator and other process software
  • Participate in the Corporate Training and Development scheme and maintain awareness of current issues in Industry and Process Technology
  • Pro-actively resolve design problems with vendors and third parties
  • Act as the focal point for clients on process design and operational issues
  • Coordinate the resources of the Great Yarmouth process team to ensure that project schedules are adhered to
  • Liaise regularly with the London based Process Engineering Manager, to ensure that cross-centre resourcing is effective
  • Prepare process engineering estimates and contribute to the preparation of tender submissions
  • Provide process engineering expertise into ODE business development initiatives

Scope of Responsibilities:

Organisation and Resources

  • Act as a Lead Process Engineer on small projects
  • Mentor and project manage Junior Process Engineers
  • Coordinate process engineering resources for GY based brownfield projects

Finance and Commercial

  • Provide ad-hoc support to other divisions including Consultancy and Business Development as may occur from time-to-time as supported by the Process Engineering Manager

Production and Efficiency

  • Provide definition of the Process engineering work in the project, design approach or criteria by skill and experience in coordination with he Project Manager
  • Clearly understand the Codes and Standards applicable to the work carried out and raise deviations where necessary

Safety and Environmental Related Tasks

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

  • Carry out work in accordance with ODE, Doris and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
  • Undertake Process engineering design work with a strong focus on Safety both in design detail and engineering design execution; and to be innovative in design work with due regard to minimisation of cost whilst maintaining technical integrity

  • The role is not an offshore role; Offshore survival certificate holding is not required, but this would be an advantage

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) or equivalent

10+ years process engineering experience in design/operations

Significant experience related to the oil & gas production and processing industries. Brownfield experience advantageous

Chartered Engineer with corporate membership of the IChemE, or a comparable institution

Offshore certification (BOSIET/FOET) advantageous
